IELTS Is a Top Test Taken by Immigrants and Foreign Students

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam is an international standardized English language proficiency test. AbroadEd could establish that the IELTS was created in 1989 to assess the English proficiency of individuals interested in working, studying or immigrating to English-speaking countries.

Immigrants and international students are the individuals who mainly take the IELTS. The standardized test assesses an individual’s ability to read, listen, write and speak English.

According to AbroadEd, the IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP IELTS, and Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

The exam is graded on a scale of 1-9. International students must score high on the band scale to secure admission to schools in English-speaking countries, such as: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the US.
